High-level panels Day 1
Panel 1: State of Multilateral Collaboration and Support to European University Initiative
This opening panel will look into the significance of the European University Initiative as a flagship program of the European Higher Education Area and its contribution to the European Strategy for Universities. Our focus will be on a supportive multilateral environment for European Universities and their sustainability. We will discuss how the current state of collaboration between the European Commission, government, Higher education institutions and other Alliances and stakeholders can support the development of joint working culture, identity and shared governance and contribute to a long-term vision that European University Alliances have committed to.
Panel 2: Ambitions, Challenges & Best Practices of Pioneering European University Alliances
In this second high-level panel, we will focus on key elements for the implementation of the joint vision, mission and strategies of the European University Alliances by zooming in on the transformative leadership, co-engagement and governance models in a transnational European context, and with a reference to regional geopolitical challenges, including the war in Ukraine. Through the lens of 4 existing Czech Alliances, we will discuss the transformative institutional potentials and share the obstacles as well as best practices.
Workshops Day 2
European University Alliances – Research and Innovation
What are the most tangible results of the Science with and for Society(Horizon2020) project on the institutional level? What is the state of play regarding the shared research infrastructure and support for research collaborations? This workshop will focus on Research and Innovation in EUN Alliances within the Czech context. We will discuss the challenges and best practices of aligning our research resources so far and how to move ahead beyond the pilot phase.
European University Alliances and Governance Models –Deepened Collaboration
What are the common vision, mission and values of your Alliance? How has deep institutional transnational cooperation been modelled so far? Which governance prototypes have been established, and how do they contribute to the implementation of the common vision, strategy and activities? Can students and staff participate and how? What does an inter-university campus look like after the pilot phase and what are the next steps? In this workshop, we will have each Czech EUN Alliance presenting their own innovative and new, systemic, structural and sustainable cooperation EUN models by focusing on challenges encountered so far and presenting solutions and new ideas in moving forward.
European University Alliances, Challenged-based Approach and Stakeholder Engagement
What is the state of play in connecting students and academics, together with researchers, entrepreneurs, companies, local and regional actors, and civil society actors? How can we improve working together to address societal and other challenges? In this workshop, we bring together the leadership of the Czech alliances with relevant stakeholders to discuss the models for Innovative solutions adaptable to different regions in Europe. We look into a challenged-based approach to learning and training that can develop knowledge and equip students, lifelong learners and researchers with critical thinking, entrepreneurial, creative and transversal skills, relevant to a fast-changing labour market and profound transition-driven changes in our society.
